Jinghong, capital city of Xishuangbanna may look like any Chinese modern city, with its uniform buildings, shopping centers and internet cafes. However, Dai population, its language, alphabet and food reminds the visitor it is a special place. Located on the Mekong river, Jinghong is not really an interesting city, in spite of its relative quietness.
