THE ARCH OF TRIOUMPH IN PYONGYANG

The Arch of Triumph of Pyongyang has been built to commemorate the "victory" of the Korean resistance over Japan from 1925 to 1945. 1925 is supposed to be the year of the beginning of Kim Il Sung's participation in the Resistance. The Arch of Triumph does not commemorate the previous resistance activities, and is therefore just one more monument to the glory of Kim Il Sung. It is slightly higher than the one of Paris, of which it copies the main shape.
