XI'AN
Xi'an used to be the capital city of China, especially under Qin and Tang
dynasties. Nowadays, it is one of the main Chinese cities, capital of the
province of Shaanxi. Like all large cities, there is not so much remaining
from its past architecture. However, the city walls have been restored and
some of the atmosphere in some Chinese and Muslim areas still remind Old
Xi'an. But Xi'an is especially famous for the thousands of soldiers from
the earthened terra cotta army of Emperor Qin Shihuangdi, which proportions
and state of conservation are amazing.
