Xiahe is a town with a half tibetan and a half han and muslim population. It is located in the south of Gansu province, just at the Qinghai border and clearly belongs to the tibetan area. Xiahe has the largest Tibetan monastery outside Tibet Autonomous Region: Labrang (Labuleng) Monastery.
