Shaoxing, a canal type city is not as famous as Suzhou, is an interesting destination for the visitor, thanks to its historical and cultural background. Zhou Enlai and the writer Lu Xun's families were originated from Shaoxing, as well as many Chinese intellectuals and mandarins. Located between Hangzhou and Ningbo, Shaoxing is now a very quiet and asleep city, still famous for its very special wine and typical food.
