CENTER OF HONG KONG

Former british colony until 1997, Hong Kong (the perfumed port) is today a special administrative region with a broad autonomy from mainland China. This territory is indeed very different from the rest of the country, especially because of its cosmopolitan aspect and its cantonese language. Hong Kong is still the richest territory in China, but its economic, commercial and financial power is today challenged by its new competitor, Shanghai. Hong Kong's cultural influence over whole China and Asia is certain and many visitors appreciate the mix of Western and Chinese cultures. For most people, it symbolizes shopping and nice opportunities, although the cost of life is very expensive.
