Capital city of Zhejiang province, Hangzhou is, like Suzhou, one of the two traditional earth paradises in China. Under the name of Qinsay, this city impressed Marco Polo when at that time it was one of the biggest cities in the world. Nowadays, it is one of the most visited cities in China thanks to its famous Western Lake and the surrounding hills. Indeed, it is a very pleasant place to visit when it is not crowded. The center of the city is not that interesting and is mostly composed of modern and uniform buildings, like in any other Chinese city.
