Dunhuang is one of the most famous steps on the Silk Road. Located at the western end of Gansu province, nearby Qinghai and Xinjiang, Dunhuang is nowadays a small town which attracts more and more turists. It is an oasis surrounded by rocky and sandy deserts, with an important muslim community. Its surroundings are full of fascinating historical, archeological and natural spots.
